Netgear a leading company in producing the various storage products has come up with another storage product a ReadyNAS. Its basically an external device of 1TB capacity with 4 HDD embedded in it. It supports data redundancy through a feature called XRAID technology which is somewhat similar compared to RAID.The devices may range from 1TB to 3TB of capacity. AS it supports XRAID technology if one drive goes bad you can reconstruct the lost data by replacing the failed drive. The XRAID technology takes care of reconstructing the lost data by using the most preferable RAID level. You can connect this device through a wireless router and can simultaneously access the data. If there is any power supply failure you can even remove all the disks and fit them into another box. There is a in-built software through which we can even transfer the the data through FTP and make a backup.
